Welcome to Roslyn
Roslyn is a village located in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island with a population of approximately 2,770 according to the 2010 census. Initially it was called Hempstead Harbor, and was settled in the year 1633, but it eventually changed its name to Roslyn in 1844 to avoid postal confusion and differentiate the village from the other "hempsteads" all throughout Long Island. The Village of Roslyn is situated at the eastern edge of the Town of North Hempstead.
